Doris Bentolila paints fashion using a mixed-media approach — watercolour, ink, gold and pastel — from her studio in South-West France, near Toulouse. With a quick, colourful line, she captures the poise of a silhouette, the glow of a fabric, the attitude of a runway.
Her illustrations pay tribute to the great couture houses as well as to her own female figures. Each piece is painted by hand, on paper, one of a kind.
“A silhouette is only hinted at; a single gesture is enough to bring it to life.”
Each work is a one-of-a-kind piece, hand-painted on paper. Fine-art prints and bespoke commissions — write to me with any enquiry.
